One of the things that I actually enjoy doing is planning out our meals for the week. I know it’s not everyone’s favorite and it can get redundant doing it every single week. But I think it’s really helpful when I see other people’s plans, find a new recipe to try, and find things that make it easier to get dinner on the table.
I’m going to start sharing our family’s weekly meal plan here in hopes that it will inspire and help someone too, especially if you find yourself in a dinner rut.
First I want to share a few things about how our family eats:
- We are a family of five, so dinners have to feed all of us. Leftovers are even better!
- I don’t make separate dinners for my girls. They will sometimes eat a deconstructed version of something (for example if we’re having quinoa bowls, they might have a plate instead with black beans, quinoa, avocado, olives, etc. separate), but never a totally different meal.
- We eat a lighter dinner, focused mostly on some type of protein and lots of vegetables.
- We eat mostly pescatarian at home, so a lot of the meals I’ll share will be plant-based.
