Hi! I’m Lauren and I live in California with my husband and three girls. They all drive me crazy but also make me so happy. ♥
I started Five Plates because I truly believe in the power of food. But I didn’t always. I used to have so many negative thoughts surrounding the idea of eating healthy. Gross vegetables. Depriving myself. No treats. Restrictive. Hard. Expensive. Time consuming. Not delicious.
And I don’t think I’m alone in that.
But when I began to eat healthier consistently, I quickly realized that food plays such a huge role on my energy levels, emotions, health, sleep, gut health, and overall feeling of wellbeing. And I wasn’t depriving myself of my favorite treats like chocolate and wine. I was hooked on eating healthy. (Thank you Tone It Up! ♥)
Because for me, it began with eating healthy for postpartum weight-loss, but it turned into so much more. It turned into me feeling better about myself. And having more energy to keep up with my girls. And feeling energized to workout. And sleeping better (even with kid wake-ups).
Eating healthier foods seriously changed my life.
I want to help other people also realize that:
* It’s possible to eat healthy AND delicious foods.
* It’s possible to eat healthy when you’re busy.
* It’s possible to eat healthy when you have kids.
* It’s possible to make small healthier tweaks to your everyday that have big impacts on your health.
And I’m excited to share my experience with you about healthy living and finding balance doing it!
